Underwater

Three quarters of our world is water; the opportunities for travel to, around, on, and in are compelling and growing. Sonne was the first woman to "fly underwater" in the historic Deep Flight Aviator -- seen below in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TV's "NAVIGATING THE UNKNOWN." She has also chronicled submersibles for WIRED.COM, AMERICAN CHRONICLE, and AVIATION HISTORY. For a one-minute trip with Jellyfish in Palau, check out NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC'S INTELLIGENT TRAVEL.

Sonne's husband was brave enough to get “certified” in New York City and in the kelp forests off Catalina Island, California, so the couple could be dive buddies.
